Hari Raya Aidiladha, the Feast of Sacrifice, marks the close of the Hajj. For Muslim guests across Malaysia, the day is observed with prayer, qurban, and family meals. The cocktail bar on this date runs on the non-alcoholic side: same craft, same glassware, same care, no alcohol push. Cocktails sit on the back bar for non-observant guests who order them. The small-bar format means there are no large rowdy groups, the music sits at conversation volume, and the night belongs to whoever wants to sit and talk after the family rounds wind down.
Aidiladha in the Malaysian context
Hari Raya Aidiladha falls on the 10th day of Dhul-Hijjah, the final month of the Islamic lunar calendar. It commemorates Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah. The day's central observance is qurban: the ritual sacrifice of cattle, sheep, or goats, with the meat divided into three portions, one for the family, one for relatives and neighbours, and one for the poor. In Malaysia, mosques and surau coordinate organised qurban schemes that distribute korban meat across the country.
The morning has a fixed rhythm. Solat sunat Aidiladha at the mosque around 08:00, then the khutbah, then qurban observance either at the mosque grounds or at organised slaughter sites. By midday, families return home for the lunch table: rendang, lemang, ketupat, sambal, and the cumulative kuih lineup. The afternoon turns into rumah-terbuka rounds, visits to grandparents, uncles, aunts, neighbours, the same circuit Aidilfitri runs at a slightly slower pace.
Aidiladha is observed more quietly than Aidilfitri. The mood is grateful and reflective rather than celebratory. By evening many families have completed the visit circuit; some friends choose to meet out at a relaxed pace. Damansara Kim and SS2 are residential PJ neighbourhoods that quiet down further on observance evenings.
Why the bar can host you on Aidiladha
The bar's role on a Muslim observance is to host non-drinking guests with the same care as drinking guests. That should not be radical. In many cocktail bars the non-alcoholic side is one apologetic line at the bottom of the menu. Dissolved Solids has built a serious NA programme on the back of years of competition work, and on Aidiladha it sits at the front of the bar.
A serious NA cocktail menu at a craft bar is a real menu. The bartender builds the drink with the same technique: shake, stir, dilute, strain, garnish, present. The only thing that changes is the spirit base. NA aperitivo replaces gin or Campari. NA bitter replaces Angostura where appropriate. Brewed tea reductions and fresh juices carry the flavour where alcohol would. On Aidiladha, this programme is the default for guests who specify they are observing. The alcoholic menu remains available for guests who are not. The glassware is identical across both sides; the drinks land at the table at the same time, in matched form.
What to order on Aidiladha (NA programme first)
The Aidiladha NA list draws on Malaysian and Middle Eastern flavours, both reflecting the day. NA first because this is what the date calls for.
Black Honey: espresso, dark honey, citrus, NA aromatics. The signature NA coffee mocktail.
Floral Mango: ripe Malaysian mango, jasmine tea infusion, lime.
NA Negroni: non-alcoholic aperitivo base, NA bitter, blood orange. Stirred, single rock.
Rose and Cardamom Cooler: rose syrup, cardamom, lime, soda. Floral and warm-spiced.
Date and Tamarind Sour: date syrup, tamarind, lemon, ice. Sweet-tart, deeply Middle Eastern.
Saffron and Honey Lemonade: saffron-infused syrup, honey, lemon, soda.
NA Bandung: rose syrup, evaporated milk, ice. Malaysian classic, in a wine glass.
Sirap Selasih: rose syrup with basil seeds. Traditional Malaysian, beloved by older guests.
Pandan and Coconut Refresher: pandan syrup, coconut water, lime, soda.
Iced Karak Chai: proper karak chai, cooled, with cardamom and saffron.
Kopi-O Peng in a Coupe: cold-brewed kopi-O with gula melaka, served as a cocktail.
For non-observant guests, the regular cocktail list runs in parallel: Negroni, Old Fashioned, Spritz, Tesseract. Matching glassware on both sides.

For groups mixing observers and non-observers
The bar handles both. The bartender pours the NA cocktail for one guest and the alcoholic version for another, in matching glassware, at the same time. No announcement, no awkwardness. Mixed-faith friend groups are normal at both outlets, particularly on observance evenings when the calculation comes naturally to the bar team.
Halal-friendly status and observance respect
Both outlets serve no pork and no lard. The kitchen runs a small snack programme; alcohol service is clearly separated from food preparation. Neither outlet currently holds a JAKIM halal certificate, so we describe the kitchen as halal-friendly rather than certified halal. Groups that need strict halal certification should treat the kitchen with that caveat in mind.
The NA cocktail programme uses no alcoholic spirits and no alcoholic bitters. NA Negroni, NA Spritz, Black Honey, Floral Mango, Peach Blossom, Pandan Collins NA, Floral Bloom, Rose and Cardamom Cooler, Date and Tamarind Sour, and the brewed-drink menu are all alcohol-free. The bar team can talk through any specific ingredient if asked.
