Reservations and walk-ins

Do I need to reserve a table?
Walk-ins are welcome at both bars. Weekends fill up after 8pm. Weeknights and earlier evenings, we usually have space. If you want certainty, reserve a table.

How do I make a reservation?
Through our reservation form, which sends a WhatsApp message to the bar of your choice. We confirm within an hour during open hours.

Is there a deposit or cancellation fee?
Normally no deposit and no cancellation fee. We do appreciate a heads-up if you can't make it. For large groups, festive seasons, or public holidays a deposit may apply. Our team will let you know when you reserve.

How far in advance should I book?
A day ahead is plenty for weeknights. Two to three days ahead for weekends. Same-day works most of the time, though we can't always promise the seat you want.

What are your opening hours?

  • Dissolved Solids · Damansara Kim: Tue, Wed, Thu 15:00 to 00:00. Fri, Sat 14:00 to 01:00. Sun 14:00 to 00:00. Mon closed.
  • Soluble Solids · SS2: Wed to Sun 18:00 to 01:00. Mon, Tue closed.

Where exactly are you?

  • Dissolved Solids: 43-1 Jalan SS20/11, Damansara Kim, 47400 Petaling Jaya.
  • Soluble Solids: 50-1 Jalan SS2/24, 47300 Petaling Jaya.

Do you have parking?
Both bars have street parking nearby. Damansara Kim is slightly easier than SS2, on average. Parking fills up after 8pm on weekends. We recommend arriving by 7:30pm if you're driving.

Public transport?
For Dissolved Solids · Damansara Kim, the closest stop is MRT TTDI on the Kajang Line, about 8 minutes by Grab. MRT Bandar Utama is the next-closest, about 10 minutes by Grab. For Soluble Solids · SS2, MRT Bandar Utama is the closest, also about 10 minutes by Grab. KTM Komuter Petaling station is about 10 minutes to either bar.

Drinks and dietary

Do you have non-alcoholic options?
Yes, real ones. Our coffee mocktails (Black Honey, Floral Mango, Peach Blossom) are built with the same care as the cocktails. We also pour our own kombuchas when ready, plus loose-leaf teas and proper coffee. More on our mocktail philosophy here.

Can I customise a drink?
Yes. At Soluble Solids, customising is the default since there's no fixed list. At Dissolved Solids, the menu is short but the bartender will adjust most drinks if you ask. You can also use the drink builder to design something in five taps before you arrive.

Vegan? Gluten-free? Allergies?
Most of our cocktails can be made vegan (aquafaba in place of egg white). Most can be made gluten-free. Please tell the bartender about allergies before ordering.

What snacks do you have?
A small kitchen menu. See /snacks/ for the current list.

Pricing

How much do drinks cost?
Cocktails are between RM 35 and RM 60 depending on the spirit and the build. Mocktails between RM 25 and RM 35. Coffee and tea between RM 12 and RM 22. We don't list prices on the website because they shift slightly with bottle costs, but we keep them within Damansara Kim and SS2 ranges, not KLCC ranges.

Service charge?
No service charge. The menu price is the price you pay.

Payment?
Cash, cards (Visa, Mastercard, AmEx), and Malaysian e-wallets (GrabPay, Touch 'n Go). No surcharge on cards.

Group, kids, pets

Group size?
Solo, twos, threes, and small groups (up to about six) are the comfort zone for both rooms. Larger groups are possible but please WhatsApp ahead.

Can I bring children?
Welcome before 8pm at both bars, with a parent. After 8pm, the rooms get smokier and the music goes up.

Pets?
Service animals welcome. Other pets, please WhatsApp ahead.

Wheelchair accessibility?
Both outlets are on the first floor and require a flight of stairs to access. We're not wheelchair accessible by default. If mobility is a concern, WhatsApp ahead and we'll do what we can to make things easier.

Other

Dress code?
None. KL casual is the default.

Smoking?
Indoor smoking is not allowed under Malaysian law. Both bars have a small outdoor area suitable for smoking.

Corkage?
We don't allow outside drinks and we don't sell bottles of spirits. The focus is on craft beverages built behind our bar, so the menu and the bartender stay the centre of the room.

Outside food?
Yes, welcome at both outlets. Feel free to tapau or order Grab food from anywhere and bring it in. We have our own snacks menu too (see /snacks/) if you'd like something hot from us. Birthday cakes are welcome with notice.

Private events / buyouts?
Possible at both bars. WhatsApp Dissolved Solids or Soluble Solids for a quote.

Cafe & coffee

Are you a cafe or a cocktail bar?
Both, in different ways. Dissolved Solids in Damansara Kim is a coffee cocktail bar and cafe, we pour espresso, kopi-O, and serious coffee cocktails alongside the cocktail menu. Soluble Solids in SS2 is a cocktail parlour where every drink is built bespoke. If you are searching for a cafe in Damansara Kim or a coffee cocktail bar in PJ, Dissolved Solids is what you are looking for.

Do you serve coffee?
Yes, especially at Dissolved Solids. We pour espresso and kopi-O straight, and coffee cocktails are a quiet speciality of the bar. We wrote about why robusta beats arabica behind the bar. The Kopi Sour, Espresso Martini, and Black Honey are the most ordered.

Is there a cafe in Damansara Kim?
Yes. Dissolved Solids at 43-1 Jalan SS20/11 is a coffee cocktail bar and cafe. We open Tuesday to Sunday from 14:00 or 15:00 (afternoon, not morning) and run until late. Espresso, kopi, coffee cocktails, classics, and customised drinks.
