Both our outlets are small, intimate rooms, the kind of space that turns from a public bar into a properly private party with the right buy-out. We do not run separate event packages; instead, we let you take over the whole room for the night, and the bartender team comes with it. Here is how it works.
What "buy-out" actually means
You reserve the entire outlet for an agreed window. No public walk-ins for the duration. The bartender team, the back-shelf spirits, and the music control are yours. You set the guest list; we run the bar.
This works for groups of roughly 20 to 60 guests depending on the outlet. Smaller groups (10-20) can also book a half-section without needing a full buy-out, ask us about the partial-reservation option.
Both outlets, the basics
Dissolved Solids, Damansara Kim. 43-1 Jalan SS20/11, 47400 PJ. ~32 seats. Best for: structured cocktail evenings, business gatherings, birthdays with a printed-menu format, post-dinner private receptions. Pink neon, warm light, small-room intimate energy. Free street parking after 18:00.
Soluble Solids, SS2. 50-1 Jalan SS2/24, 47300 PJ. ~28 seats plus standing capacity. Best for: customised-cocktail experiences, hen nights, anniversary parties, intimate weddings, the "no two drinks the same" kind of evening. The infusion shelf becomes part of the show.
What is included
- Full bar service for the agreed window (usually 3-4 hours).
- Bartender team appropriate to the group size.
- Access to the full back-shelf and the menu in its standard form, or a custom menu pre-built for your event.
- Music control (Spotify, your playlist, or our house selection).
- Glassware, ice, garnishes, all standard bar tools.
- Snacks menu available; outside food (Grab orders, catering, birthday cakes) is welcome.
- Basic decoration (candles, banners, table cards), you bring, we set up.
How to book a buy-out
1. WhatsApp the outlet of your choice with the date, the rough guest count, the event type, and the window you want (e.g. "Saturday 19:00 to 23:00 for a 35-person birthday").
2. We send a draft proposal within 24 hours: minimum spend (the floor that covers the buy-out), any timing notes, what is included, what is extra.
3. You confirm with a small deposit (usually 30% upfront, balance on the night). Standard payment methods: bank transfer, card, e-wallet.
4. We pre-meet a week before the event to align on the drink menu, the music, the small details (cake-cutting timing, surprise reveals, dietary requirements, anything specific).
5. On the night, we run the bar. You enjoy your guests.
What we can do, with notice
- Custom cocktail menu built for the event (e.g. a wedding cocktail named after the couple).
- Pre-poured signature cocktails waiting at the door as guests arrive.
- Themed-drink flights for tasting groups (e.g. four small whisky drinks across regions).
- Surprise builds for the guest of honour, a cocktail you designed in advance, brought out with a small toast.
- Non-alcoholic side with the same care as the cocktails; especially important for mixed-faith groups.
- Cake handling (we cut, plate, and serve any cake you bring, no extra charge).
What we cannot do
- External catering at your venue. We do not bring our bar to off-site events. The bar stays at the bar.
- Public access during your event. Buy-out means buy-out; we close to walk-ins.
- Same-day buy-out bookings. We need at least 5-7 days to plan properly.
- Smoking inside the room. Malaysian law; we have an outdoor area.
Pricing structure
Buy-out cost is structured as a minimum spend rather than a fixed venue fee. This means: you commit to a total guest spend for the night, and the bar revenue counts toward that minimum. If your guests drink past the minimum, the extra is just their tab. If they drink less, the difference is the buy-out cost.
Indicative minimums (subject to date, day-of-week, and guest count):
- Weeknight (Tue-Thu, 4-hour window): RM 3,500 to RM 5,500 minimum spend.
- Friday or Saturday (3-4 hour window): RM 6,500 to RM 9,500 minimum spend.

For most weekend birthday parties of 30-40 guests where each guest has 2-3 drinks plus snacks, the minimum is usually hit organically. The buy-out cost in those cases is effectively zero on top of what guests would have drunk anyway.
Common event types we host
Birthday parties. The most common booking. 30-50 guests, 3-4 hour window, mix of bar standing and table seating, music progression from chill to celebratory.
Hen nights. Soluble Solids especially. The customisation model becomes a small entertainment, each guest gets their own custom cocktail, named on the spot.
Wedding after-parties. Post-dinner, 22:00-02:00 window, full buy-out. We have hosted several. The intimate-room scale suits the after-party energy better than a hotel ballroom.
Corporate gatherings. Year-end dinners, team-building closers, client appreciation evenings. Both rooms work; Dissolved Solids tends to suit the more structured corporate format.
Anniversaries and milestone celebrations. Often partial-section bookings rather than full buy-outs, for smaller intimate groups of 10-15.
Product launches and brand events. Small-format launches that want a more curated, cocktail-bar atmosphere rather than a generic event space. We have done a few.
